Dona Ganguly thrilled by Maha Kumbh experience

Dona Ganguly visits Maha Kumbh, calls experience ‘Beyond Words’

Odissi dancer Dona Ganguly feels that performing at the Maha Kumbh Mela is a special spiritual moment for her. She believes that being invited to perform at such a significant event is like a divine calling. The Maha Kumbh, which attracts people from all over the world, is a place of deep religious importance. Ganguly expresses her gratitude for this opportunity, saying that offering her devotion to God through dance in such a sacred place is something every artist dreams of.

Dona Ganguly has performed at several prestigious venues before, including the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi in Ayodhya and the Triveni Mahotsav. However, she feels that this experience at Maha Kumbh will be completely different. She is thrilled about performing in Prayagraj, a city she is familiar with but where each visit feels unique. According to her, performing in front of such a large, diverse audience is an exhilarating experience. She says the excitement is beyond words and will only grow once she steps onto the stage.

A performance dedicated to Mahadev

Dona Ganguly is leading a team of 20 talented artists, and they have put in a lot of effort to make their performance special. She explains that their act will focus on Mahadev (Lord Shiva) and the holy river Ganga, both of which hold deep significance in Hindu culture. The performance has been choreographed with great care, ensuring that it aligns with the spiritual essence of the Maha Kumbh.

One of the highlights of her performance is a beautifully choreographed dance to the UP tourism song "Kumbh Chalo Re". This song celebrates the Maha Kumbh and its grand spiritual atmosphere. Ganguly and her team have been rehearsing rigorously for weeks to perfect their movements. She mentions that performing for a new audience always brings a sense of responsibility, and they want to give their best on stage.

A deep personal connection

Dona Ganguly is not just looking forward to her performance but also to experiencing the Maha Kumbh itself. She plans to visit the Mela and Akhadas (traditional spiritual gatherings) to seek blessings for her loved ones. Her biggest wish is for the well-being of her family, especially her mother, who has been unwell. She believes that the divine energy of the Kumbh can bring peace and healing.

As a dedicated performer, Ganguly always strives to give her best. She believes that no matter how big or small the stage is, an artist’s commitment must always remain the same. She wants to leave no room for regrets and is determined to make this performance a memorable one.

With her deep passion for dance and spirituality, Dona Ganguly’s presence at the Maha Kumbh is set to be a truly special moment. Her performance will be a blend of devotion, tradition, and artistic excellence, making it a must-watch event at the grand gathering.
